Kabirwad - 17th March’19
Hello People,
How Sunday riding with friends became an essential part of Weekend, is difficult to narrate. The epic & famous misconceptions about monotony & boredom’ soon came to mind, how wrong I was. There is nothing called monotony, its all in your head, and how you eject it out of your system and change. I believe I am enjoying the most exciting phase of my life in my 40’s. Maybe, ’50s will be all the more exciting, Amen!
So, it was another awaited Sunday!! The trio (Rajan, KD & me) again, gathered at 6:30am and headed for Kabirwad a place near Bharuch. This was a 75 km ride one way (the usual riding odometer reading that we do on Sundays). The concept of gearing up every time you get on your bike is relatively new to our country when compared with the North American and European countries. But its picking up very rapidly. When you ride all geared up, the riders are noticed with pleasant curiosities by many, no harm meant. This thought, is backed up with the observation I have had with my experience. After tea around 7:00 am, we cruised towards the highway, its mid March and the weather is still pleasant in Baroda, good for us. The ride today was very fast, we reached Kabirwad @ 8:00 am. There were a bunch of people already at the river bank in the queue to take the boat on the other side of the river Narmada. We too, marched for the same quest. And, as we reached there, someone informed, we need to buy
tickets to board the boat. So, we got back and reached the ticket counter. The tickets counter opens at 9:00 am, we were waiting and hustling with our decision, to take the tickets and go on the other side? It already was 9:10 am and no sign so far of it opening up. So, we decided to head back on the highway towards Baroda.
On the way back, as usual, we stopped for breakfast and decided to ride again next Sunday. Hopefully, we will have Prashant joining us next weekend. His bike was at the service station today.
See you again next Sunday, for more twists of the throttle experience!!
Cheers!
-Manish
