Madhuban Resort - Anand - 7th April 2019

Image
Hola Riders!!! Yet another Sunday morning (suppose to be the most awaited morning of the week) for us who share the same passion! The "us" here is a huge community of crazy people spread across the country and this passion/craziness is picking up in India at a rapid pace. We decided to have a short ride (anything under 50kms) is considered short for a Sunday breakfast ride. We were the fantastic four (Rajan, KD, Sumit and me) to flag off from Baroda and cruise into the tranquil serenity of the Madhuban Resort!! There was something new and exciting to be tested - my action camera (I recently got it to capture our rides). I got it chin-mounted on my helmet. We started around 7 am, and the reached around 8 am at the Madhuban Resort. This was my first visit to this popular family weekend gateway resort. I like the place, it's quiet, beautiful ambiance and spread over acres of land. Our original plan was to go to the "Chai Bar" (that's the only Bar, official...

Shoolpaneshwar & Statue of Unity - 31st March 2019

Image
Happy Sunday folks, Last week was not a usual one, there were some not so motivating updates & news. It was Thursday,  and the messages started to come in for where are we riding on this Sunday? The not so motivating news took a back seat, and the clock started ticking to start cracking the throttle on an early Sunday morning. We were riding on a familiar highway towards the Statue of Unity, the roads were super smooth and the ride was amazing! This time, it was Sumit, Rajan, KD and me. Our destination was "Shoolpaneshwar". As we were getting close, we were almost at the Statue of Unity, we realized this place is just 4 km from the Statue of Unity. We took our chances to ride towards the Statue of Unity, and to our surprise, nobody stopped up, we were right there at the campus of the Statue of Unity. We enquired about the tickets and the time it would take to take a guided tour. But, decided otherwise as we all had some engagements and wanted to reach Baroda by 1...

Vera Khadi River Front & Gallops Food Plaza - 24th March 2019

Happy Sunday People!! Yet another Brotherhood Sunday ride, We had Sumit joining us today after a long break, It was the usual Trio (Rajan, KD & me). I had one of my school friend, Anubhav Sharma riding with us today, to get a flavour of the experience. We were totally 5 riders, starting from Baroda, riding to explore the areas in the proximity of Anand (the milk Capital of India, AMUL)! It was a short ride today than usual Sundays, the experience was huge and mesmerizing. It was an array of super machines at display at Gallops today. We had a buffet of two wheel machines at display in the parking area. Bikes and Super Bikes ranging from Triumphs, BMW's, Ducatis, Harley's, Kawasaki's, Royal Enfields, Jawa (back in the league) and the KTMs. The line up of all the bikes was immaculately performed with no supervision or assistance. It shows the discipline of the riders towards their machines and fellow riders. There is this unsaid pact amongst the riders to lineup the ...

Kabirwad - 17th March’19

Image
Hello People, How Sunday riding with friends became an essential part of Weekend, is difficult to narrate. The epic & famous misconceptions about monotony & boredom’ soon came to mind, how wrong I was. There is nothing called monotony, its all in your head, and how you eject it out of your system and change. I believe I am enjoying the most exciting phase of my life in my 40’s. Maybe, ’50s will be all the more exciting, Amen! So, it was another awaited Sunday!! The trio (Rajan, KD & me) again, gathered at 6:30am and headed for Kabirwad a place near Bharuch. This was a 75 km ride one way (the usual riding odometer reading that we do on Sundays). The concept of gearing up every time you get on your bike is relatively new to our country when compared with the North American and European countries. But its picking up very rapidly. When you ride all geared up, the riders are noticed with pleasant curiosities by many, no harm meant. This thought, is bac...

Malsar - 10th March

Hello Riders!! Happy Sunday! Phew, what a busy week! This time its not only a much awaited Sunday Ride, its a much needed one! The adrenaline was high, the clock read 6:30 am, and we were ready to hit the highway! The trio (KD, Rajan and me) flagged off from Baroda  and Prashant (joined us on the way).  I don't want to sound political, but the Gujarat Government must be credited with the quality of the roads, they have built and maintained. The internal state highway, connecting Karjan & Malsar was smooth and curvy (the description sounds voluptuous) ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ As we cruised, all of us loved the ride experience and the quite scenic nature. The plan today was to have a long awaited photo shoot. And in no time, we were at the river bank of Narmada. It was tranquil, we noticed some construction work in progress, looked like some sort of irrigation plant. We lined up our machines, and it was time to capture the moments, we shot some amazing pictures. A few posted with this ...

Zand Hanuman - 3rd March’19

Image
Jai Shree Ram! Riders!! After a week of busy work schedule, the much awaited Sunday arrived!!! This time it was a plan to visit “Zand Hanuman” a religious place in the middle of Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary. We were again 3 Riders KD, Rajan and me. The weather was pleasant, perfect for a Sunday Breakfast Ride! This place has a significance from the epic Mahabharat.  The one story behind this temple was Bheem himself established this hanuman temple at this place years ago, when pandavas were in exile. The temple is famous because people find here the BHEEM GRINDING WHEEL.  The open highway, cool breeze, and winding roads made the ride worth every mile covered. As we cruised and revved the throttle, the riding pleasure was exuberant. My Harley, at 3500 rpm and above was super smooth, experiencing maximum torque, it was thrilling, similar to an airplane taking off!! As we reached the temple site, there were just  a few people around. We spent around an hour exploring t...

Kaavi Kamboi - 24th Feb'19

Image
Happy Sunday Riders!! Today it was Riders day for some reason, I saw many riders on my way to the start point of our ride. We gathered today at Akshar Chowk to proceed towards Kaavi Kamboi (Temple of Lord Shiva), that submerges in the Arabian Sea twice a day during high tides. Natures Magic to make the humans realise, there is some supernatural power, so STOP messing ๐Ÿ™‚ We were 3 riders to start from Baroda, KD(riding a Bullet 350 Standard), Rajan(riding on his KTM 390)and me (riding on my Harley Street 750). This was a first time for all of us at this destination. So, google maps was the only assistance we were dependant on(trust me, Google Aunty was accurate). The roads were not too great today and the route was crossing a few state higways traveling through village roads. When we were about to reach the temple, our first sight at the ocean was breathtaking. It felt like we are in Goa!!! Not really!!!! Hahaha As we reached, we spotted a few more Gentlemen, and what? The...

Statue of Unity - 17th Feb'19

Image
Hello, Riders!!! Amazing ride, super smooth and open highway, and cruising at a stable speed of about 90kmph. We were joined by Prashant (rides a Thunderbird), he is an experienced rider working at Bharuch. However, we learned today that personal vehicles aren't permitted to enter the Statue of Unity area, one has to park the vehicle and take a bus to visit that area. There are various categories of tickets covering many places of interest. While we were trying to use the most common effort used by an Indian "Jugad", which was unsuccessful, we met saw a few long distance riders from Mumbai, there was a solo rider we spoke to (Ravish) riding all the way from Hyderabad and cruising towards Jaisalmer over the next few days. We then decided to give some energy to ourselves and had breakfast on a roadside dhaba. Overall an amazing riding experience, but all our efforts couldn't create the Unity to visualize the Statute. Let us ride next Sunday together!!! Che...

Champaner Fort - 27th Jan'19

Image
Hello, Riders! It was a bone-chilling morning, and we were ready to roar on our beasts (KTM, Harley & Bullet). We were a group of three riders (Three to Tango). The ride was super smooth, except for the fact that our hands were freezing on the throttle. We stopped over on the mid-way for a cup of tea and reached the Fort site as planned on time. The view at the fort was amazing. We also noticed, there was a pre-wedding shoot in progress, the photographer and the couple taking full advantage of the view and weather conditions to take some picture worth remembering for life :) We too were inspired with the idea and took some pictures. This was a post-wedding shoot for all 3 of us, without the spouses :) Bachelorhood re-visited!!! After a while, we again headed back on the way to Baroda, we stopped at a hotel on the Highway for breakfast!! Hope we will continue to have Breakfast rides in the next weeks to come! Cheers! -Manish
